ECONOMIC IMPACT STUDY
BADIOLA I DATZIRA
Xabier Badiola and Magalí Datzira were selected to take part in the second edition of the artist collaboration project promoted by Musika Bulegoa and Fabra i Coats: Fàbrica de Creació. Last May, they set aside the instruments with which audiences usually identify them and, in just one week, composed a series of songs, including Gauzak amaitu guran, Hitza-La paraula and La Ciutatea. The repertoire, shaped through nylon-string guitars, synthesisers and piano, introduces the Badiola and Datzira duo.

Closed like a promise yet to be spoken, the musical encounter between Xabier Badiola and Magalí Datzira gives rise to the articulation of a latent sound that we do not yet know. To attempt to guess what they will share with us is to trace chance pathways of intertwined sonic correspondences: together, guided by a delicate lyrical voice, they unfold a sound imbued with an urgent sensitivity, drawing from a wide range of influences that oscillate between the intimacy of folk and jazz and the outward-reaching spirit of funk and electronic pop; a glimmer that slips by like a cadence, seeking the relationships and connections between things with an incendiary ease.
