RACHID B
Rachid B is a Spanish-Moroccan musician and artist whose debut album, El Ghorba, produced by David Rodríguez, establishes him as a troubadour who sings about nostalgia for his homeland in a captivating repertoire. The album tells the story of the author’s journey from Morocco to Hortaleza. With his guitar, the warmth of his voice—his main instrument—and the courage of someone who has a story to tell, his musical proposal blends languages, styles, and life experiences. RACHID B emigrated from his native Morocco not out of material necessity or in search of a better life, but “out of curiosity”. The curiosity to soak up a new world. That same curiosity led him to exhibit his pictorial work in Moscow during the 1990s and, later on, to record his debut album, El Ghorba (Discos Centeneros, 2025), sung entirely in Darija, in the Madrid neighbourhood of Hortaleza. A warm voice, guitars stripped of vanity and a minimalist, melancholic electronic production shape this work, which moves between folk, dream-pop and vapor-dub.
