L'ECLAIR
L’Eclair are a Swiss band that turn instrumental groove into an expansive, physical and luminous experience. From Geneva, the group have built a world of their own where psychedelic funk, electronic textures, silky melodies and an almost hypnotic rhythmic precision coexist. With Cloud Drifter (2025), their fourth album and debut on Innovative Leisure, they open a new chapter that blends modernity and nostalgia without losing the power of their live performance. A project designed to move the body and engage the mind in equal measure.
Whenever I discover a band, I tend to analyze its DNA through digital stalking. It’s easy to contextualize L’Eclair by looking at the evolution of their discographic journey. Their beginnings can be traced back to the highly interesting — albeit underrated — Barcelona-based label Rocafort Records; they then make the leap into cult status with Bongo Joe and, finally, establish themselves in Los Angeles with Innovative Leisure (for context: the label that helped propel BADBADNOTGOOD, with whom they share certain similarities). Innovative Leisure is the label that helps them move beyond a niche audience and enter a more mature and commercially oriented phase, without losing the connection to their earlier stages.
