A Festival Open to Everyone
The Mercat de Música Viva de Vic (MMVV) is born, every September, out of a wish to turn the city into a meeting place built around live music. That spirit of gathering only makes sense if it is open to everyone: for this reason, accessibility and accessible culture are one of the festival's core areas of work, present in how spaces are planned, how concerts are programmed and how the services offered throughout the five days of the fair are organised. We understand accessibility as an ongoing process of improvement, not a closed goal. Year after year, the MMVV introduces new measures — in infrastructure, communication and direct support for people — to ensure that everyone, regardless of mobility, hearing or visual capacity, can enjoy the festival's concerts and activities with the greatest possible comfort, safety and independence. This commitment takes shape through reserved raised platforms, hearing loops, live captioning, sign-language interpretation, vibrating backpacks, accessible toilets in every area, and a dedicated support service to resolve any question or need before and during the festival.
Below you will find all the accessibility measures available at MMVV 2026, organised by type, together with practical information on how to request priority wristbands or free admission for companions. At the end of this page you will find a summary table showing the measures available at each of the festival's stages.
 

Accessibility measures by type
Accessibility for people with reduced mobility

• Accessible venues. Every space and stage at the MMVV is accessible to people with reduced mobility, with no exceptions. The routes between stages, walkways and venue entrances are designed so that no one has to miss out on any festival activity for reasons of mobility.
• Raised platform. Inside venues with capacity limits, there is a reserved, clearly signposted area so that people with reduced mobility can enjoy the concert with optimal visibility, in comfortable and safe conditions. This area is available at la Carpa, Plaça Major Estrella Damm and la Catedral DICE.

Hearing accessibility

• Hearing loop. People using compatible hearing aids or cochlear implants can connect directly to the sound of the show through their own device, without needing additional headphones. The hearing loop is installed in Sala 1 at l'Atlàntida and at Plaça Major Estrella Damm.
• Vibrating backpack. A system that translates the sound and rhythm of the music into vibrations, so that people with hearing disabilities can physically feel the performance. Available at concerts at Plaça Major Estrella Damm.
• Live captioning. Concerts at Plaça Major include live captioning, projected on the side screens of the stage, so that people with hearing disabilities can follow the lyrics and spoken parts of the show in real time. This service is exclusive to the Plaça Major Estrella Damm stage.
• Sign language. Sign language is the natural, visual, gestural and spatial language that serves as the everyday means of communication for the deaf community. MMVV 2026 will offer sign-language interpretation at Sunday's concert at Plaça Major, featuring Quimi Portet.

Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs may access all performances and areas of the festival without restriction, accompanying their handler at all times.
Accessible facilities
Every toilet area on site includes at least one accessible toilet. The raised platforms reserved for people with reduced mobility also have their own accessible toilet, so they do not need to travel to another part of the site to use one.
Accessible bars. The stages at la Carpa and la Catedral DICE have accessible bars, designed to make them easier to use for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.
 

Priority and companion access
Priority wristband
People with a disability certificate can request a wristband that gives them priority at bars and at the entrances to stages with limited capacity.
Where to collect it:

• At L'Atlàntida, during the professional fair days (Wednesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.).
• At the Vic Tourist Office.

Free admission for companions
People with disabilities attending with a companion can request free admission for that companion to paid concert venues.
How to request it: send an email to mmvv@vic.cat, stating the details of the person with the disability and of the companion, as well as the concert or concerts for which free admission is being requested.
