Socunbohemio arrives at the Mercat de Música Viva de Vic at a key moment of artistic growth. Led by Artur Viñas, the project presents its second album, a step forward that expands its universe without losing the honesty, delicacy and ability to connect that have made it stand out within the new Catalan scene. With Biel Colomer, Gerard López and Òscar Acon, the live show gains scale, intensity and ambition, taking the songs into a more open and powerful territory. A project that confirms Socunbohemio as one of the most relevant voices in contemporary Catalan pop.
We live in times when everything moves very fast, and music is no exception. The sheer volume of what is on offer is so overwhelming that any music lover with even a little curiosity risks suffering from sonic indigestion. When a song does not catch us immediately, we move on to the next one, and in this way we swallow whole albums without giving them the time they need.
Luckily, we have pop artisans who reject the dictatorship of copy and paste. Artur Viñas, the leader of SOCUNBOHEMIO, is an impeccable example. His songs are handcrafted and full of detail; they speak of apparently insignificant things, such as the passing of time and those emotional jolts that break us and, at the same time, make us grow. The musical wrapping follows the same path. With exquisite delicacy, he strips the arrangements that accompany his songbook of all artifice. The result is captivating, an antidote to the algorithm and to contentless virality.
