Romàntic Dimoni (RO.DI) is the new band led by Carles Caselles, frontman of Smoking Souls. With their debut album Primer Moviment, the project fuses rock and post-punk through a powerful instrumental sound that does not give up melodic sweetness. If you mistake tenderness for surrender, you will not understand Carles Caselles disguised as Barabbas. Surviving a band as finely tuned as SMOKING SOULS required far more than love. “Without Bolu? Have you started thinking you’re the king of the village festival?” Yet Primer moviment (Propaganda pel Fet!, 2026) begins from a premise that, fortunately and cleverly, is more than just a slogan: love against the machine. Among songs without choruses, it is a refuge where rest comes hard and one that forces you to inhabit the verse. I believe, ROMANTIC DEVIL, that “you will be my home.” RO-DI is the blood streaming from the nose of the friend who left you behind to save himself from the mob, on the very day he meant to apologize. It is the cries of a friend regaining her senses precisely when you are no longer willing to excuse her. It is an album that arrives late to everything—to love, to apology, to cordiality—when the only revolution still available is to stay and to care. Tender terrorism, if the redundancy may be forgiven.
