Loveang3l is a Barcelona-based artist who blends electro, house, and high-energy club music, drawing influence from 1990s trance and Y2K synthesizers, known for their futuristic aesthetic. Her hybrid sets create an intense and euphoric experience where futuristic nostalgia, fast-paced rhythms, and unstoppable energy coexist. On May 21, she released her latest EP, xtraradio fm, which features four tracks.
It is a little strange to write a review “for laughs” about someone you do not know. Last year, the “Indicatiu” review compared me to Woody Allen and Joel Joan. Since then, I have turned my face away from them at every party where, unfortunately, we have crossed paths. That is why my text about LOVEANG3L will be serious, coherent, and accurate, which is how I would have liked to be reviewed myself.
With only four tracks released, and an exquisite collaboration with the citizen Guim, Ariadna Oski offers a 10-minute demonstration of “xumba-xumba” with lyrics as honest as “Yo lo que quiero es irme de fiesta con mis amigas” or “No penso plorar, només vull ballar”. Lines that align with the legacy of anarchist Emma Goldman: “If I can’t dance, it’s not my revolution.” The show undoubtedly promises plenty of dancing, especially since she is also one of the founding members of the DJ collective Nòvies. All of this comes handled four-handedly by Clara and Berner, with the quality guarantee provided by the Live in Dallas label.
