Villa, Redhead’s music is difficult to fit into a single category. It moves between rock, ambient, and hypnagogic pop, while maintaining a strong melodic sensibility throughout. With a distinctive vocal style, his music navigates the space between experimentation and pop melody, striking a balance between sonic exploration and accessibility without compromising its unique character. I know nothing about VILLA, REDHEAD. I know nothing, and I probably already know everything. And I know that those of us from Osona cannot afford such arrogant sentences. But it is clear that everything he likes, I like too: Arthur Russell, Alex G, Built to Spill, Animal Collective, The American Analog Set, Grouper, Dean Blunt, Sparklehorse… All his references are mine too, and I am a little afraid that, when I see him, I will find my Shelbyville Milhouse. I do not know whether I will have the dangerous feeling of facing my doppelgänger or the comforting confirmation that I am not alone in the world. In any case: lots of layers of noise, misty textures, wandering little guitars, very little Instagram, dirty production and bread with chocolate. My only wish is that he does well enough not to stop making music, but not so well that he blows up too much and ends up moving into the middle lane. Thus spoke old, grumpy Eduard.
