ULTRALONE
Ultralone is one of the freshest voices in the Catalan underground. Born in Berga in 2004, he has built a world of his own through honesty, direct lyrics and an unfiltered way of expressing himself. With his debut album, Farmàcia de guàrdia (2025), he begins to consolidate a personal sound within the new Catalan urban wave, moving away from fixed formulas and exploring beyond the usual codes of rap. A young, real project with its own perspective on the present.
ULTRALONE is yet another example of Catalan overcoming the stigma that it does not work well for rap. He has solid references from trap, one of the new offshoots of rap/hip-hop to have emerged in the United States in recent years, as well as hard, very catchy beats and funny lyrics that show real wit. He is part of the new generation of young artists in Catalan urban music —he reminds me of P.A.W.N. Gang, pioneers in bringing this style into our language— and he proves his skills.
He knows how to represent the sound his generation is looking for, and when it comes to image, you can tell there is a lot of work behind it. Everything is carefully thought out and well looked after, even though immediacy tends to reign in this kind of genre. The video for the song “080” is a good example.
