After meeting at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, Abril Sauri and Alex Duato formed AlexAbril, a Spanish fusion jazz duo that blends contemporary jazz with flamenco nuances and pop influences. This combination shapes a distinctive sound that is constantly evolving. Specializing in improvisation and real-time music creation, they stand out for the strong connection they share on stage, where every performance becomes a unique experience through the creation of unrepeatable musical pieces.
“Ey cari, súbete a esto”. And we jumped on board from day one. They’re probably the only band from Madrid that we actually like. We met them just 40 km from North Korea, while we were singing terribly out of tune in front of some poor Koreans, but they turned out to be an amazing audience. They’re the perfect band if you want to seem interesting on a first date, if you want to learn music through their jazzy chords and look cool in front of any member of La Ludwig Band, or simply if you want to enjoy two incredibly talented and genuinely lovely people who win you over not only with their aura, but also with their music.
