BERNAL
Bernal is a Valencian band formed by Carlos Martínez-Bernal, Eduardo Nogués, Mickele Morra, and Álvaro “Avo” Martínez, blending influences from indie, emo, post-rock, and math-rock. After debuting with ¿Qué tal todo allí fuera? (2022) and establishing themselves with the EP La Necesidad de Contarlo (2023), the band has taken a significant artistic step forward with Vida y Milagros (2026). This new album, which they will present at MMVV, expands their sound through more sophisticated song structures while retaining the melancholic sensitivity that defines their music. Thanks to this release, Bernal has established itself as one of the most promising emerging acts in Spain’s contemporary alternative music scene.

BERNAL is a band of dark little guitars from Valencia's independent music scene. They are also four friends navigating the transition into adulthood amid turbo-capitalism, making music together. If you listen to BERNAL, it becomes easy to understand what it means to live in post-pandemic Valencia: a city of blue skies and dazzling sunshine that, weighed down by a persistent anxiety, resists becoming unliveable. The best thing about BERNAL is that they write songs that capture the present moment remarkably well: an increasingly harder sound accompanies lyrics shaped by disillusionment. All this without surrendering to cynicism, because they always end up giving hope a knowing wink.
